The recent posts I made about Omaha Beach received a lot of views and responses saying that visiting Normandy was on your bucket list. My so-called retirement is taken up to a great extent organizing non-profit tours all over the world.. I have one trip "American History in Europe" that concludes with the D-day beaches. It is a great trip but because of distance there is a lot of seat time on the bus.

If there is enough interest then I could do one exclusively for Normandy and the entire D-Day area. In the past, we have had limited time to do it all because time was taken for other parts of the trip. This one would give us the whole operation. We can go anytime but some have mentioned wanting to take their kids so it could be June when school is out.

I have one trip already scheduled for the Loire Valley in France in the summer (not next summer, going to the Amalfi Coast in Italy for next year) so I can pretty well estimate the cost. It would be 2019 if it is in the summer. For a double it should.,almost for sure, come in under $1,500 per person (excluding air fare) and if more stayed in one room, would drop from there. I do not have a clue if there is enough Vol interest for it to be strictly a Vol trip or not but if you have any interest (no obligation) then shoot me an email at ddodson@sc.rr.com and we can go from there. There are a few Volquesters who have taken the History tour so they may want to chime in.

Thanks
