Our local chapter of Project Healing Waters has been planning on having a bass tournament fundraiser at Center Hill on May 5. We have met a couple of obstacles. We have not yet been able to raise the $ that we were hoping to have to offer a big payout. We also have not yet been able to get all the paper work back from our national office. So, for our inaugural fundraiser tournament we are going to just have a classic pot tournament. The date is Saturday May 5, 7-3 at Ragland Bottom access. Five fish, $100/boat, 2 fishermen per boat. We will payout 1 place per every 10 boats. Fifty-percent of the pot will go to each place paid, and the other 50% will go to Healing Waters. We are not doing an early registration. Everyone will pay and sign a waiver the morning of the tournament.

Project Healing Waters helps veterans with mental, emotional, and/or physical disabilities heal through fly fishing. I encourage you to check out the PHW website.

I know that this format is not as attractive to people that might have a bit of a drive, but it is for a great cause and fishing on the Hill is awesome this time of the year. It could easily take 18-24 lb to win, and your chances of catching a monster smallie this time of year is really high. We are really close to Chickamauga and Dale Hollow if you want to plan on making a weekend out of it. Our plan is to use this next year to get all of our ducks in a row so that next year we can go all out and offer a big payout. Its not a must, but if you think you will be attending please shoot me a pm.
