It might be a while before Rivals does something about this, if they ever do anything.
The way the website is coded however, allows for the video to disappear under certain dimensions.
To get the video to disappear, simply grab the left corner of your web browser and and start moving to the right. The whole page will start getting smaller at first, but then the whole right column (and the video in it) will disappear and then the rest of the site will go back to normal size.
I know this isn't ideal, and we shouldn't even have to do it, but it will get rid of the video for those that just absolutely cannot stand it...
