and I understand the side of the argument that people make about him possibly having underachieved and not liking his age, but I think it would be an intriguing hire. I would certainly view it as a hire that has a chance to be a strong despite understanding, and even agreeing to a certain extent, with the arguments against it.
I would hope that people would not freak out in response to it if it were to happen. Embrace the hire if it's Barnes and just let it play out. He may come in as an established name, having coached some premiere players, and really attract some nice recruits to Tennessee. And if a team gets really good players, that program has a chance to make a big move pretty quickly in this watered-down conference.
