I have made a few similar post, so forgive me for any redundancy, but I am curious what the board thinks of where our guys may fall in the 2017 draft. Obviously health, their 2016 season, combine performances, other players available, etc will impact these projections. I am definitely not an expert here so be easy on me if I miss the mark on anyone.
Barnett: 1st round
Unless he has a super disappointing junior season, I would think he is a top 15 guy. I do not see him dropping out of the first round even with the most unusual of circumstances.
Cam Sutton:1-2nd Round
This will depend a lot on who the other top CBs are coming out. He could be a higher pick, top 15 or so, but hard to see him dropping out of the 2nd regardless.
JRM: 2-3rd round
His size is the only concern. I like the comparison to Lavonte David drafted by the Bucs in the 3rd round. I think JRM likely sees a similar draft position. He could go higher if he can somehow prove he can play at 235+.
Hurd and Kamara: 1-5th round ???
This is one of the deepest RB classes I have ever seen. Perine, Fournette, Chubb, Michel, Conner, Freeman, etc. all draft eligible. This could cause Hurd or Kamara to be drafted later than they would in an average year. We will obviously have a much better idea after this season. Both have 1st round potential, but several others throughout the country do also.
Weisman: 6-7th round
I may be in the minority here but I think Weisman is every bit as good as Zach Fulton and will be drafted in similar fashion.
Croom: Wildcard
Croom could go anywhere from the top 2 or 3 rounds to undrafted. It will all depends on his performance this season and how healthy he can be.
Lewis and Vereen: 6-7th round or undrafted
Both guys could get drafted if they have productive senior season. Lewis has a little better build for a 4-3 DE in the NFL. Vereen could find a home as an end-LOS-edge-player for a 3-4 team. Both guys have been really solid contributors but it will take better production to get drafted, particularly showing ability to get after the passer consistently.
Foreman: Undrafted FA
Foreman has really improved his play at the nickel, as we all know. He has obvious speed but I am not sure he has the stature the play in the NFL. Some others may have a better idea if he has an NFL future or not... I do think he will get a shot as an udfa though.
Danny O: Undrafted FA
Danny O is a solid player. By the eye-ball test he has short arms and appears to be below average athletically speaking for an NFL DT. Should get his shot as an udfa.
Dobbs: Undrafted FA
Doesn't have an NFL arm. I am a huge Dobbs fan, but some guys are just not NFL players. Hopefully, he shows massive improvements throwing the ball and proves me wrong.
