In reading some threads as we all work though tonight's content here are a few more thoughts.
Josh Malone is quietly off to a nice start to camp. Here's the best think I see out of Malone to date. He's the first one in line for a rep. He's more eager than he's ever been and there appears to be a sense of urgency. In one drill today, Azzanni complimented him and then asked him what he could have done better. Malone quickly answered and went and worked on the technique on the side.
I've said for week's he's more comfortable than he's been and he's start to camp has been very solid.
The battles may be growing on the offensive line in terms of the competition and that's very healthy. Should be fun to watch and that's why DeBord isn't in a hurry to nail down his top five.
They also like what they are seeing early on with John Kelly at the running back position. Now let's make clear that it's Hurd and Kamara but Kelly has done some nice things early as he's learning the system.
Today got competitive, really competitive with some players talking some junk and some extra shoving here and there and no one was happier than the head coach.
This team has a long ways to go and there are concerns at several positions, but the fact that they are competing with each other beyond the top 22 players is a positive sign for the creation of depth.
