Just finished a Rec league game so I wasn't able to dive into the Maleik Gray commitment when it first happened but wanted to drop my thoughts on this one.
First off, it's just huge for perception. Gray is a top 150 guy in this class and for all the talk about instate recruiting not going well right now it was a great sign to see him jump on board. And he has that kind of personality that others really like.
I think he could be someone the reps the Vols and he's an All-American caliber player so that always helps.
As a safety, I think he's really good. Earlier in his career I thought he might grow into a linebacker but I think he's player really well there. He's still a little bit of a tweener, but if you play him the right way he's a big athlete that can run and hit and you can't have enough of those.
All around a huge pickup heading into the Orange Carpet Day next weekend. I think they could add a few more before the end of June, too.
Prince Fant may be close to doing something and Alontae Taylor is coming to Orange Carpet Day and that could be one to watch as well.
