the inaugural tennessee hof committee decided that the first inductees would be known as the legendary group which would consist of only players and no coaches. other deserving inductees that will include coaches will be inducted in succeeding years. bowden wyatt was a former all sec player. willie gault was inducted as a track star - not a football player. condredge holoway was inducted as a baseball player - not a football player. to most people's disappointment there, peyton manning was not able to be there. he gave a video message regarding his induction. i now understand why robert neyland was not in the first group. i hope this clarifies the issue to us vqers.
