We were coming off a dismal opening game performance(17-14 win) vs Colorado State a team that had went 1-10 the year before and were facing a power national team UCLA in Pasadena. But with Webb and Cobb and a young team that included freshman Todd Kelly sr. routed the Bruins and finished the season 11-1.
