Tough to criticize in game decisions. You don't know how it's going to work out. But I do think TV made a MAJOR mistake

And it wasn't a decision in the game.

I was fine leaving Burns in the game when we were up 3-1 with a man on 2nd. He had retired 9 in a row and then 10 of 11. He still had some great stuff. Some would say he should have replaced him and who knows how it would have turned out. The pen didn't do a good job tonight (I wouldn't have replaced Sewell with Kirby but whatever, Sewell could have gotten hit). We can talk about individual decisions. For example, after Stephenson's double, I would have had Luc bunt him over to 3rd against the lefty. One could argue that Luc hit a home run yesterday off a lefty but I think the chances of him getting the bat on the ball vs a lefty were not good. But again, these are all in game decisions.

The one mistake I think TV made was pitching Dollander in game 2 instead of game 1. He's our best and we should have led off the series with the best. I also would have gone Burns in 2 and then Tidwell in Game 3 (if necessary). I think it was important to get out ahead of ND and not let them get any confidence or stick around. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I can't remember too may runs Dollander gave up in the 1st inning. IMO, you get your best out there right away.

That is debatable, just like in game decisions. But I think that's an overall strategy that could have had bigger repercussions. On another topic, I think this team played like they had a lot of pressure on them. They simply didn't play well this postseason. 2013 Vandy comes to mind. Hopefully next year is our 2014 Vandy (although our record will likely be much better).
