Played on the road at Loyola Marymount who just came off of winning 2 out of 3 over ranked UC Santa Barbara.
Had freshman hitting in the #2, #5 and #6 spots.
Local freshman Zach Linginfelter got the start and was electric. 4 IP 3 hits 2 ER 0 BB and 7 K's. Was his second appearance and first start. Has 8 total innings 0 BB's and 10 K's. Kid has a big time arm and big time stuff.
Bullpen went like this:
Conor Darling- Freshman, scoreless inning
Daniel Vasquez- Sophomore, scoreless inning
Will Heflin- Freshman, 2 BB's but this kid has a nasty change and a nasty breaking ball. Just couldn't find the zone last night.
Garrett Stallings- Freshman, 2 scoreless innings (entered with the bases loaded and 0 outs and he struck out the side). His 5th appearance. For the year he has allowed 2 hits and 0 walks and struck out 5 in 5 innings.
John Lipinski- Senior, closed it out with a scoreless frame
Our offense has done some good stuff this year (all on the road) without Brodie Leftridge getting going. He was penciled in as leadoff hitter and very talented. Can run and has some pop. Hopefully he can break out of this little slump. He was rated one of the top college position players for the MLB draft. He will get it going.
