I love that you mentioned the Cutcliffe QB sneak against South Carolina. Up 7 late, just run a draw and kick the FG for a 10 point lead with like 3 minutes left (going off memory). I think Arky would have beaten us but a closer game but the Vols would have beaten LSU with a healthy Erik Ainge. Crompton was solid but Ainge was obviously better.
How much of a difference does Rob Smith leaving the program and not coming back as a returning starter on an OL that struggled a bit running the ball and was thin in spots???? Feel like they were close to beating Florida and it was the Gators DL dominating the Vols run game. Maybe they are a bit better up front and can close that game out as well. 11-1 after 2005 would have really bought Fulmer more equity. That team was close to being elite. It doesnt even get into losing Harrell and Inky for the year early either.
