There is no doubt in my mind that CBJ loves his job, Knoxville, and the money he's making. IMO, he is highly driven to succeed, wants to make us all happy and be a superstar. Unfortunately, as a result of his drive, he coaches not to lose, like he has a stick up his @$$, is stubborn, arrogant, and is probably in over his head.

I've repeatedly used the failure to go for 2 in Gainesville last year as an example. I fully understand, in the heat of the battle, making a mistake. However, when you make a mistake it's always best to come clean and admit it. He hasn't.

He's adamantly said, over and over again, that he'd do the same thing, stubbornly has stated he has a chart, arrogantly has tried to educate us, and definitely seems too concerned about both the local and national perception of his failures. These are all symptoms of caring too much and over analyzing to the point of paralysis or stubborn resistance to change.

Like anyone would do, he has tried to accentuate the positive, this weeks "we'll be fine" is a perfect example. He has his list's, is checking them twice, etc.. He is too concerned about the national perception, and being right, to the detriment of improving the team.

My suggestion, as just a dumb fan, who is however an orange bleeding VFL; is that he lighten up (especially in his public appearances), look in the mirror, accept and embrace new ideas (whatever it takes to succeed), and reenergize his rebuild. This offseason is huge! How he reacts to the negative, makes decisions about staff changes, and his ability to continue to bring in great recruits is critical to his long term survival.

I don't know how he'll react. I do know that if he continues down his "my way or the highway" route, he'll fail. More of us will embrace "we need to fix a few things" than we will "the system is infallible". Of course, at the end of the day, it's all about winning.

He may decide, like Hurd, to bolt. He may change. Or, he may stubbornly continue what he's been doing. IMO, there is only one choice that will lead to success.

Time will tell if he can adapt and grow. I pray he can. I want him to succeed and win!
