From a poster on the Mich forum:
Fwiw. I have a frat/ homeboy who is the step father of Cam Akers. I reached out to see what he would tell me. I asked him why Cam didn't take his official to Michigan a few weeks ago. Dude told me that Cam had a game that ended late the night before and he wasn't getting up that early to catch a flight. Instead they ended up going to a LSU game (2 hr drive). Note* don't know how truthful he was being but he said Wheatley hadn't reached out anymore afterwards.
I asked him how the Ohio state official went and he wasn't overly excited. He said they were in a real good spot....but he said "I ain't gone lie that cold was something else and the distance will be a factor when it's time to weigh the pros and cons. Mind you dude was being a little more candid with me cause we were speaking on a personal level. He said saw a "salt mound" and asked what it was, they told him it was for roads in case of bad weather. Of course I relayed to him that they were on the "front" end of the nasty weather and it only get colder. I asked him about Bama and how do they feel in regards to Najee Harris. He said that Bama had ramped up the attention and have been trying to set up home visits. This could be a due diligence thing being that Harris could be thinking "michigan".
Also ohio is telling cam that if you play in the NFL that you will play in cold climates. They are pushing that Curtis Samuels is gone and they need another explosive back to run their offense. The back from Texas is strictly a slot back, Antonio Williams isn't ready yet.....whatever that means. Distance and weather is a major factor. I told bro that I need him at Bama to push Harris or way but not ohio state because I don't want face him for 3 years. Ole miss if it just has to be.
We had to hang up they are getting ready for cams banquet tonight, take it how you want... hopefully Bama coaches continue to push.
Go blue!!!!
