What are your thoughts on the perception within the AD on Pruitt's recruitment of position coaches? Speaking forthrightly, 1.3MM is quite the substantial hiring experiment. I get that the coaching profession can be rather unstable at times, but if I'm an AD it has to be concerning to me that my head coach went out to get a DL coach, made him a co-defensive coordinator, gave him a 2-year deal worth 1.3MM and then subsequently fired him after four games and only a few months of football.
What does that say about Pruitt's judge of coaching talent? In the mind of the AD, does it draw into question Pruitt's ability to lead this program successfully and make good hires moving forward? I mean after all, Pruitt isn't always going to have past coaching relationships to lean on when making hires, and sometimes he's going to have to judge a person's character, work ethic, and resume without having worked with them in the past.
Honestly, if I'm managing a budget, I'm pretty pissed at this point that one of my employees just pissed away 1.3MM in a few months with what can only be seen as a bad decision.
