I remember what gave me hope when Butch first came here we played Oregon and got blasted after the game he says this is unacceptable at Tennessee I was skeptical. We go down to Florida start Peterman and jump out early then eventually in the 3rd fall behind 31-10, after the years of Dooly I was like here we go we are going to get ran out of the stadium in another televised game. However we did not give up we kept fighting until the end and we scored, stopped them the rest of the game, and ended the game on their end of the field. Every year that he has been here we have fought and battled until the end, never give up, never quit, fight until the final whistle. He represents us with class, contrary to popular belief he doesn't make excuses. Not once this year has he used injuries as an excuse he simply says next man up. Our team GPA is high, he has guys doing countless hours of community service, he is teaching our guys to be men. He is a grinder he works relentlessly to gain an edge in recruiting, efficiently running a program, getting great assistants, you name it he works at it. He holds players accountable you make a careless mistake and he meets you at the sideline and he is all over your tail, You make a poor call as an official and he is all over your ass, he has that fire and intensity I want my HC to have. He has brought the former Vol greats back into the program, he has brought Majors and Fulmer back where they Belong. everything he does he puts the good of the program at the forefront.But the thing I love the most about him is this weekend, as in all the time he has been here we WILL FIGHT Bama tooth and nail for 4 quarters, we will match their intensity, we will hit them in the mouth, we will come after them for 60 minutes, our coaches will have the guys prepared to win!!!! I think we will win but I know if we don't win they will give their all for Tennessee on Saturday and when the joke Kiffin and the idiot Dooly were here it was not that way. Some of you who are true blue blood runs Orange Vol fans will appreciate this I know I sure do
