Barring a miracle, we are headed down. I hate it like a mother, but to me it is inescapable.

It might take a few years for the drama to play out or it may end suddenly, but in my view, the loss at SC was the time/place that Butch failed at a critical career point. Last night was just another incident.

All of this is on one guy, Butch Jones. Not Shoop. Not injuries. Not the AD or administration. He had his big chance. He excelled at many things, but did not improve as a Head Coach enough to take advantage of his strengths and become consistently successful. Doesn't make him a bad guy, in fact he is a really good guy. But overall, he has not been successful in achieving the goals any SEC Head Coach should set for themselves and we should expect. He's had good support and autonomy. He's done some good things. But the results are not coming and there's not reason to believe they will in the future.

I wouldn't bet against Butch eventually becoming successful, he's very driven, but I don't think it will happen at UT.
