For those of you who live in East Tennessee or have listened to the Sports Animal in the last few years, you likely know the name Coalfield Herman. Herman is currently in the ICCU at Methodist Medical in Oak Ridge fighting for his life. The doctors and nurses are doing everything within their power to make him comfortable until he passes. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers over the next few days...this has been a very difficult time for Herman's family. Herman is a larger than life figure and has brought so much joy and happiness to everyone around him over the last 84 years. When I visited him Monday the first thing he asked me was how the boys looked during the O&W game. Heather Harrington was gracious enough to come visit with him Tuesday and bring the family a gift basket. Herman truly is a VFL, but more importantly an amazing person.
