Forewarning - long post inbound. I feel like this will be a HOT TAKE according to this board, but a lot of you are way off base IMO.
Dobbs has arm talent. Period. I saw several posts complaining that Malone had to adjust to a ball thrown over his outside shoulder. Seriously? No QB in any level of football is gonna throw that ball perfectly every time. Watch any NFL highlights, and you'll see guys making acrobatic catches on balls that weren't perfectly thrown (Odell, anyone?). We have guys capable of doing that. Gotta give them chances.
Here's the thing. IMO we aren't utilizing our talent at the skill positions well enough. We've gotta give our playmakers more opportunities to make a play. Remember BAMA last year? When the game was on the line they threw a couple of jump balls up to Ridley, and he just made a play - even with good coverage. Those weren't perfectly thrown passes. We need to do more of that to keep the defense honest.
Vince Young and Tim Tebow played like gods, because they were dynamic athletes with enough talent at the skill positions around them to destroy defenses. I promise you Dobbs has more arm talent than either of those two, and is just as explosive running the ball. We have to cater to his game more. We have the athletes to do it. Again, all of this is my opinion. Flame away.
