Tennessee was back on the practice field this afternoon in preparation for Alabama. We had some brief viewing time in which the Vols worked some special teams and some individual stuff along the defensive and offensive lines.

Jalen Hurd was on the field and in his customary green jersey. Alvin Kamara was also in green but that appeared to be cautionary based on our observations.

Darrin Kirkland Jr. was at practice getting some work on the side while we were allowed to watch. Elliott Berry also appeared to get some work on the weak side as he did at Texas A&M.

Obviously the Vols had some injuries pile up in College Station and among other concerns finished the game at Texas A&M minus two offensive line starters, so it will be interesting to keep an eye on that situation as we get closer to game time. Venzell Boulware, who finished out the fourth quarter at left guard, got some work there today. Coleman Thomas finished the game at Texas A&M at center but still doesn’t appear to be 100%.

In the secondary it looked like Marquill Osborne got some work at corner along with Baylen Buchanan and Justin Martin opposite Emmanuel Moseley as Tennessee continues to search for depth at cornerback.

With Danny O’Brien dismissed Quay Picou is off of scout team and looks like he could be the fifth defensive tackle. Alexis Johnson continues to work there as well and could now be in line for some snaps in the rotation.

Butch Jones was certainly making an effort to ramp up the intensity on the practice field this afternoon and it seemed like the team was responsive to those efforts as they prepare for their fourth huge SEC test in four weeks.
