Look at the wins CFP had against Bama and Ga and you will see a trend. When you are beating the likes of Shula and Goff it doesn't mean a lot. When those schools got decent coaches his record fell off considerably. I am NOT saying he didn't get some wins against good coaches at this schools but the winning percentage dropped dramatically.
Look at what Fla did against him once they got the old ball coach. You would expect to do well when you have a QB like Manning for 4 years and you had the best QB and OC in UT history.
CFP was good but compare his record against coaches with winning records rather than those run out of coaching and you will see why the demand for him to go coach at other schools when he was fired was non-existent from top tier programs.
CFP was a shell of his former self and wasn't an elite coach at the end. To be honest, he was never in the same league as many coaches past and present like Urban Meyer, Saban, SS, Sabo, etc. For the most part even Mark Richt kicked his butt.
