Just thought I would pass along this conspiracy theory that was given to me today. I didn't come up with this and will try to cut and paste it just was it was presented to me… kind of makes you think for a second. I liked the basic outline and premise behind the work, but they didn't do a very good job of putting it all together Could have used a lot more details is you ask me but yeah I can see it..
As you can see Mike Hamilton started the collapse of the program and Nick Saban took over control to make sure the Tennessee would NEVER become a winning program again.
* On June 7, 2011, Mike Hamilton resigned from his position as the athletic director at the University of Tennessee following months of pressure stemming from numerous issues including sanctions levied against the Tennessee basketball program and numerous head coaching changes in the school's major sports. Hamilton's poor leadership, arrogance, and financial mismanagement are viewed by many as the main reason the Vols football program hit an all-time low during his tenure, from which it has not recovered. Hamilton's duties as an AD were tested when he decided to fire longtime Tennessee football coach Phillip Fulmer. Fulmer was one of Tennessee's winningest head coaches at the time of his dismissal and although many called for his firing after two losing seasons in four years there were also many in his support. Hamilton chose Lane Kiffin as Tennessee's next head coach in December 2008. Many did not believe Kiffin to be the best hire as there were other highly rated potential candidates at the time not to mention Kiffin's controversial history with past coaching jobs. Hamilton's decision would be disastrous as after only one season at Tennessee Kiffin resigned to take the same job at the University of Southern California. Due to a poorly written contract, Kiffin only owed Tennessee $800,000 upon leaving. Hamilton controversially hired Derek Dooley following Kiffin's departure, despite his losing record at Louisiana Tech.
** Dave Hart came from FSU to Alabama in 2008 and was the assistant AD, with Mal Moore as the athletic director, but as is often the case titles can be highly misleading. During that time Moore pretty much gave up most control over day-to-day operations, and was mostly a public figurehead for the athletic department whose main focus is on fundraising. As a result, Hart was effectively the AD at Alabama for those years even though he did not hold that title. Dave Hart and Nick Saban had a very close working relationship, and this is where the plan to destroy Tennessee program is birthed. Saban and Dave Hart work closely on who to hire and when to fire coaches at Tennessee. They hire Butch jones together with the promise to Jones that once things don’t work out at UT Saban will hire you to be on his staff and better your career and win some national championships.
***Lane Kiffen’s coaching career was saved by Saban who saw his talents and what he was able to do at UT in only that one season. Once Kiffen lost the USC job Saban reached out and offered him a spot and a chance to recover his coaching career which has led him back to the SEC as a head coach again.
**** Jeremy Pruit is Alabama born and breed! Played at Alabama and coached at Alabama under Saban on different times and the plan is once he is fired from UT he will again return to Alabama and work under Saban again.

- Phillip Fulmer was forced to retire (Fired) on November 3rd. of 2008 after going 3 – 6, Mike Hamilton is the AD who leads this charge.

- Lane Kiffen leaves UT for USC end of 2009 season.
- Derek Dooley hired 2009 by Hamilton as UT head coach for 2010 season
