Right now the roster's breakdown as follows :5* & 4*
GA- 16+ 52= 68
ALA- 12 + 58= 70
LSU- 7+ 34= 41
Fla- 4 + 45= 49
These schools will always recruit at a higher rate than Tenn...(Fl close, but not in game)
A&M- 4 + 38= 42
AU- 2 + 45= 47
UT- 5 + 31= 36
This is where we can challenge and win some battles...
Kty plays above their recruiting as does SCar some yrs.
For us to have occasional upsets of the big 4 above we have to have a TOP FLIGHT QB who can pass & run, i.e. a Dobbs type with a more accurate arm.
When we play a Pro-pass Off....we have to have the following:
Great line
Very good receivers who get open
RB's making tough yds. & good blockers
TE's who catch passes in the redzone/endzone.
Accurate QB that can feel the rush.
If we don't switch to a more modern style off, we are stuck in the middle, period.
When there are upsets of top 5 type teams, check out the consistent scores of the winning teams on offense...high 30's to 40's (points).
