This is a good baseball team, nothing new about that. Our mid-inning pitching may have let us down but that happens. We can hit elite pitchers and really got some good at bats they were close, but were outs. Ump was king them 2" on the outside corner too. Gilbert especially hit on the nose for outs. All that evens out over season. And the breaks went against us--probably out by an inch at home plate and we got screwed on that steal.
While it may be tempting to leave a young pitcher in when he is doing well that move will pay dividends later. We are nasty now and when Blade gets back will be a tough series for anyone. In fact we already are without him.
I don't like losing but but there were all kinds of promising signs last night. I hope we can get our leadoff batter on on a consistent basis.
Should be another fun season.
