Here we go Vols its big boy physical football at its best. Lets take a look at the keys on the offense to win the game. Its time to reach down inside and say " Enough is Enough" and go out to prove you will give your all for Tennessee today. I honestly believe Tennessee is good enough to beat the Bulldogs, but belief alone wins nothing but moral victories.

So with that said, lets get to the keys to win the game on offense. First, I believe we need to put Jashon back at LG and leave Coleman Thomas at center. Two years ago Thomas was one of the best centers in the SEC and last year was wrecked by a terrible nagging ankle injury. Against UMASS he actually played a very good game and was physical all day. This would help shore up LG where Jashon has started 3 years and not cause a drop off at center. As for the Tackle situation it wont be fixed this year and therefore we better look at more two back sets to help chip these edge rushers of Georgia. Use the tight end more inline to extend Georgia's DE and give more space for inside run plays. The bottom line with this group they have got to finally get nasty and get tired of being pushed around 3-4 fronts.

Now, on to the passing game and the lack of creativity of it at times. Its time to let go of the reigns and push the envelope a little more in scheme and concepts. As I said before in a forum on Florida, we have to put Callaway in motion and in bunch formations to keep him from man over coverage. Teams will continue to bracket him till someone else makes plays or we force their hands to get out of the coverage. They have used the stack formation some with him and that is a good start except they are running routes to short and never forcing DBs to turn their hips in coverage. Push the coverage in this formation and create mismatches for Callaway. Go with experience, don't believe this is a game for Josh Palmer this early in his career. Brandon Johnson, Marquez Callaway, Josh Smith and Tyler Byrd need to play like veterans and attack the coverage. This means drive to the cut points and snap off the routes crisp to create separation for the QB. Press the middle of the field with combination routes from opposite side slot receivers or Tight ends with crossing routes and deep posts over top to force the safety back. This will open the middle of the field and possibly get us some deep posts if we use Wolf on those crossing patterns from inline position. The safety's key is always an inline tight end to identify run/ pass and if he does his job.... play action passes from the pistol could give UT a chance to slip over top of him with backside slot or Z. Finally, run past the sticks on crucial third down throws!!!

The tight end position could play a major role in the key for UT to win this game. Now is the time Mr. Wolf for you to have a 7 or 8 catch game to make a difference in the overcome of a game. Ethan has never caught many passes from lining up with his hand in the dirt but this is the game for it. All 3-4 defenses play majority of zone over coverage while locking their LBs in one on one coverage with Tight Ends. With him lined down this forces the LB to honor run first because its a run look formation. That little half step of hesitation is all Wolf should need to slip past LB and in front of 2 deep safeties. Throw in a wild card...here is where coming out with some 2 inline Tight Ends looks could create some big plays. Austin Pope has played better and better of late and he will garner little attention from UGA defense and most likely be covered man coverage with a OLB. He has the speed and hands to bust the seem route and take advantage of a mismatch with the OLB. Here is where the X factor could come from in this game.

On to the running game, turn loose the horses and let them run all night long till their shoes fall off. In years past when UT dominated Georgia they have pounded the rock over and over. I said this in the same forum on Florida game that at first they would stop the run but later on we would gash them and we did. All defenses and especially 3-4 ones want to create mismatches by overloading the weak side of offenses formations, especially in one back spread formation. Use more two back sets, this does two things. First, it causes the defense to play balanced and it causes mismatches with OLBs trying to cover backs on swing passes and wheel routes. Georgia's OLBs are very talented but are no match covering Kelly or Chandler out of the backfield. It also allows some counter motion in the backfield where we could fake Kelly inside and give to Chandler on the quick hitter to the outside run. Once again screen game and delay draws can slow down the pass rush, but don't fall in love with them in this game because UGA will play a lot of zone under coverage. Go under the center more!!!!! UT is averaging 7.9 yards per carry when running from under center formation.

Finally, the position that gets all the blame when things go wrong and all the glory when they go right. Protect your QB with more check with me calls...your in the press box and can usually pick up the coverage or pressure quickly. Put your QB in plays to succeed and gain confidence with some early easy throws to his receivers. Spread the field with some 5 wide and use Kelly or Chandler as the slot to motion for jet sweeps or fakes to give easy slant throws to receivers as the defense shifts with the motion. Use more predetermined routes to help both QD and receivers be on the same page. Absolutely get rid of the read option for Dormady in this game and put in more roll out passes or play action out of the pistol formation. Put in a special package of run plays for Jarrett in this game to use his best asset right now...His Feet!!!! Maybe a diamond formation with him flanked by Kelly and Chandler and Byrd the deep back. Wrapping this up Mr. Dormady you consistently throw off your back foot throwing left....slide step right...set your feet and step into your throws. Your going to get hit at times but your tough enough to hang in there and take it.

Last thing....COACH TO WIN!!!! Don't coach not to lose. GO VOLS!!!!
