I know some have probably seen the 1 hour doc on these on Animal Planet or NG channel somewhere. There's pics all over Google about them. One is about the size of a roll of pennies.
I DID NOT know they were already here in the US..much less Tennessee. My mom has a pear tree in her back yard that isn't doing well this year due to the heat. Our landscaper said Nope! to doing the back yard. He was the first that spotted them surrounding that tree, attracted to the half rotted fruit. She lives in Maryville.
She/we are trying to figure out who to call about them. From what I've seen, these don't look like something a typical pest control dude could handle.
Has anyone else seen these locally in their area? Why, Lord, why?
