Hip Labrum Tear

Anyone ever have an experience with this? My Dr thinks that this is the cause of my odd hip pain that just seemed to appear out of nowhere about 4 months ago. It is hard to explain. When I know I am getting ready to move my leg or when I know my leg is about to make contact with an object, no pain because I engage my muscles. If I do something like trip over something with my left leg, I get a sniper shot type of pain on the inside part of my hip. Will hurt for about 30 seconds and then go away. He wants to do an MRI, but I just paid off the one from my shoulder surgery that did absolutely nothing to help my demolished shoulder.
