So my wife and I are already moved to Kentucky, and we are in the close process of our home down in Texas. Last week, our neighbor spotted water coming out of the brick of the sidewall.
A bad valve in the utility room pooled water about a quarter of an inch in the utility room and kitchen, which in turn also caused some damage in the master bath on the other side of the wall and the garage on the other side of the wall.
We had a company come in to start the dehumidifying process, and they located some mold.
Anyone else ever gone through this? How long does the dehumidifying process generally take and what exactly do these commercial companies do in terms of mold treatment in effected areas?
No drywall damage, baseboards ruined and have to be replaced. Door where leak was spraying had to be replaced. Only mold visible thus far was on base of wall in garage (Texas, humid all the time), and that spot was cut out of the drywall and there is some mold on the baseboard we know has to be treated. Potentially mold in other parts inside wall, but until contractor cuts open the sheetrock we have no idea.
