My cousin recently signed with a Top 25 D1 school to play o-line. He was recruited by a handful of SEC teams, and a bunch of ACC teams. When I asked him how the recruiting process was going, he specifically told me he was shocked that one of our SEC rivals booed their own team. His quote to me was this, "Do I really want to bust my butt for fans that will turn on me in a drumbeat?"
I know Billy Joe is going to respond that he pays "$X" for his tickets and it's his "right" to boo (and he may even cite an amendment), but just know this, when you guys boo our own team, it definitely makes an impression on recruits and their families...and it's not the one we all want.
Flame away but don't kill the messenger.
