After they go out and beat Florida. I'm not going to declare we are back or even a favorite to make it to Atlanta until then. I remember like it was yesterday beating NC State like a rented mule everyone rushing to declare we are back. I know that was a very different team and coaching staff entirely. But I'm so sick of the next year, blaming things on injuries, blaming things on lack of depth or just blaming things in general. I'm sick of moral victories, off season championships, recruiting rankings and everyone pointing to a season three years from now that is going to be our year. I'm sick of when the planets align and everyone else loses situationally we can make it to Atlanta. We finally have quality depth/experience and now it's up to the coaching staff to go out execute a game plan making the most of the talent they have at their disposal. I'm not an irrational redneck fan who will get on here after a loss this season with a pitchfork and demand Butch meet with a real estate agent and get out of town but it's time for him to prove himself on the field. He's done a remarkable job restocking the cupboard with talent across the board and taking us from the abyss of the Dooley/Kiffin debacle but now it's about more than unique recruiting tactics and cliches. As a beated down fan from the past decade of TN football, I'm cautiously optimistic for this fall but I will not be ready to say anything about our coach or this team being truly back until we go out and beat Florida.
