So without adding any commentary on how the Vols got the W or speculate on whether it means they can or can't win an SEC title or National title, I just wanted to look back and see where the Vols have been and could be by picking up two more OOC wins in the next two weeks.
The Vols haven't made it to the Florida game without a loss since 2012. That year, Tennessee won two early games and Gameday showed up for a top 25 matchup.
The Vols haven't won three September games since 2006* (Could be a point of contention because 2012 and 2013 teams won August games and finished September with three wins, albeit both teams were 3-2).
And lastly, the Vols haven't started a season 3-0 since 2004 - the last time we beat Florida. 2003 was the last time UT was 4-0.
So all things considered, I'm to the point where I don't care if Tennessee makes it to Florida with three OT wins or three wins by a combined 100 points. The season really starts on Sept. 24.
