guys I'm 52 years old and I remember the Fulmer years with great fondness. While I love Phillip and respect how he handled his firing by remaining loyal to the university of Tennessee, I do not think he would be our best choice for athletic director. What ultimately got Coach fired was his loyalty to his staff, and his unwillingness to make changes when needed and when he did those changes were disastrous. Promoting Randy Sanders, hiring Jimmy Ray Stevens (who Florida fired) are just a few examples. As an AD this is your primary job. Making tough decisions is crucial to the overall success of the athletic department. In my perfect world David Blackburn would be hired and coach Fulmer would be hired to do what he does best and that is to be the "face" of the University of Tennessee in an associate AD or fundraiser position. Thoughts?
