Arrived last night from Atlanta. Was told by friends to try The Rendezvous for BBQ, but the Uber driver suggested Central. He also mentioned that Miami was in town to play the Grizzlies. Well, we decided we would attack a rack of ribs and then head over to scalp some tickets and support VFL Josh Richardson.

Within 5 minutes of digging into the rack, our AD, Phil Fulmer, walked in the door. We chatted with him briefly, finished up and headed out. JR put on a great show and afterwards, I gave him a "Go Vols". He pounded his chest and pointed. VFL. Love that guy.

We got to see Chris Walker before the game today. What a great ambassador for the University. Then we ran into Lang Wiseman at halftime. I haven't seen him since law school. He looks great and had him some courtside seats. He'll be headed to Nashville soon to join Governor Lee's administration.

What a great, loud atmosphere. The Memphis fans were really into the game. There probably were less than 1500 Vol fans total in attendance, maybe even less than 1000. And the refs? Pure garbage. The NCAA needs to get these idiots under control before they ruin the game of basketball at the college level. From the first phantom foul called on Bone to the horrific charge called on Grant, the refs were awful and it wasn't just by calling bad calls against the Vols. They were simply too much involved in this game. Over 60 FTs is way, way too much.

We were able to say hello to Admiral after his ESPN interview. And we had some more great BBQ before heading to the airport. Saw Grant Williams' dad at check-in. Currently sitting in the Delta SkyClub waiting for our flight back.

I hear a lot of trash talk about the city of Memphis, but I have very much enjoyed my first visit.
