Somethings about my father.
Most of my friends were scared of him
taught me baseball and basketball
I got to see him play those sports at a high level. Played softball in his 50’s.
I introduced him to golf
his hobby was cutting wood.
I joke I thought my name was get wood or damn it till I was 12
he was a marine
he came home when I was 15 and told me he found me a job and I better not ever hear I wasn’t working hard
his rule was if we were not playing ball we better have a job
thought all my friends were lazy but loved them
had our driveway paved to resemble a basketball court
once when I was broke he gave me 400.00. When I tried to pay him back he said I already had. I know I never did
once he heard a basketball coach had pushed my sister in practice. He met the coach coming out of the gym. The coach did some tall talking to calm him down.
tons of stories. He was flawed like us all but a good dad.
