I saw the below posted on another board (not my questions - but the answer to all obviously Gruden). If I put myself in Haslam's shoes or the Trustees shoes, and as a die-hard UT fan ask what is best for the program now that Butch has recruited at such a high level (up to this year) and has shown himself not capable of coaching/winning or even interacting with the media at a high level...why not make Gruden a top 5 paid coach in college football and give him the keys to the city. For $7-8m a year he would listen. The East is there for the taking. You aren't going to get him for $5-6m. So we end up ponying up an extra few million per year...to me, that investment will reap its rewards on the field and with eventual SEC titles. Clearly, Mich went that route and it worked, very quickly. I have seen folks say money is not the issue. So what is the issue?
