Want to share this in the hope that it helps someone else. On January 11th I got the Moderna vaccine. At that time I didn’t have any clue that I was Covid positive. Zero symptoms, however, friends we had spent time with a few days ago informed us (wife and I ) that they just tested positive. On the 12th we got tested at the Memphis Methodist drive through testing(PCR). On the 13th it was confirmed that we were both Covid positive. That same day I got a call from Methodist that since I am over 65 I qualify for the experimental Eli Lilly’s Bamlanivimab (BAM) monoclonal anti body infusion. The next day I received this infusion. Later that day i started developing flu like symptoms. This lasted for about 3 days. I have been symptom free since late day 16th on. Yesterday, was my “get out of jail day” (10 days after a positive test and no symptoms).
Usually I get the seasonal flu about every other years and it hits me hard. But I have to think getting the infusion played a huge role in my mild symptoms and recovery.

My wife had mild symptoms probably since 1/8 and lasted till around 1/14 or so - she did not get the infusion (not yet ‘of age and nocomorbidities). I was able to inform three of my friends who also got the infusion the following day.

Anyone over age of 12 with a checklist of co-morbidities can be a candidate. Hat’s off to Methodist Hospital system to offer this to me. My PC physician’s office was also on the ball as they got the Covid results from Methodist but they did not recommend this infusi (probably were not aware of it’s ready availability on the 13th- they of course are now aware).
Point being, if you know someone who qualifies please advise them to pursue this option. The treatment is only available in the first 10 days of a positive result. It is a free treatment and I hear it is under utilized. The three friends who got the therapy ( one over 65 with heart issues) have all recovered within this 10 day window.
Hope y’all stay safe and share this with anyone who contracts this horrible virus.
