So last month my wife had to stay in the hospital for about a week because of an anaphylactic reaction she had to medication. Now the bills are starting to roll it and I have a question about that.

Being retired military my wife and I are usually covered under my TriCare, but in January because of a mixup on paperwork they randomly dropped my insurance on both of us. Just to be safe we put my wife on her work insurance. I just found out last week that they fixed the mistake and are now considering is insured without a lapse in coverage. This makes my wife insured by two different companies when she was in the hospital.

My question is our we able to submit these bills to both insurance companies? I plan on attempting it anyways because I would rather be told no instead of not attempting at all and finding out years down the road we spent thousands of dollars we didn't need to spend. My main concern is if there is any weird legal/tax aspects I don't know of that could put us in a bind down the road.

Thanks a ton in advance
