So this spring I have been having an issue of kids coming into my yard and turning on the water and then running off so it can stay running for quite a while before realizing I am getting standing water. Finally caught them in the act yesterday and literally followed them down the block in my car as they ran off (I was just coming home), and told them to stay out of my yard and if I catch them again I am going to call the police. A whole bunch of yes sirs and they went on their way.
Come to today, and I am home and I just so happen to look at the clock and realize it was that same time of day. I walk over to my window and sure enough there is a group of kids walking down the street. Grab my phone to get a video of what I feel is going to happen. Kid looks around, walks right up to the spicket. I'm thinking, I've got you know. He reaches down and puts his hand on the handle, then freezes and looks up directly at me through the window and slowly stands up, waves at me and then bolts down the street. I fly to my door and literally scream "Stay off my damn lawn!" As soon as I said it, I realize how much like Pred I must have sounded to these kids. Don't feel bad since it's costing me money, but couldn't help but laugh at myself and had to share.
I have a buddy in the police department that will be working tomorrow and said he is going to come by my place tomorrow and hide as well as he can. If they even take one step where they aren't supposed to he said he is going to put the fear of God into them. Kinda looking forward to that.
