Just to give a little cred to my perspective - My wife and I went to UT Martin with Pat and my wife played basketball with and roomed with Pat and was her "little sister" in a sorority (Chi Omega). Back in early 70's girls high school basketball in Tenn. was still 3 on 3 ( guards were on one end with opposing teams 3 offense players and your 3 offense players were at other end with opponents 3 def. players and neither could cross half court. My wife played guard and never had to learn to shoot but could play hellacious defense and a fierce rebounder. When my wife got an offensive rebound rather than looking to put it back up she looked for Pat to get ball to her and I think that is why Pat said "I better take care of this girl". We have remained close friends since then.
All that to say, as great and legendary a coach as Pat was, she was an even better person and friend. I wish they would stress that as much as her success on the court. She was an amazing person who helped so many people in many ways, many that people will never hear about! She will be missed !!
