First, I looked at the big three men's sports winning percentage from 2003 to 2008 and 2009 to 2016. From 2003 through 2008, the average winning percentage of the 3 sports combined was trending upwards at 0.011 or 1.1% per year. From 2009 through 2016, the average winning percentage of the 3 sports combined has been trending downward by 0.021 or 2.1% per year.
Second, I looked at football recruiting rankings. From 2003 through 2008, the average class ranking combined from scout and rivals was 44. The class ranking was trending upward at 2.1 per year. From 2009 through 2017, the average class ranking combined from scout and rivals was 70. However, the class ranking was also trending upward at 4.3 per year.
I know there are many factors that play in to this, but I figured I would post.
