Maybe you guys can help answer some of my questions.
I did a search on previous National Champions on wikipedia. Which is pretty interesting if you haven't already done so. I understand the history of champions being declared before bowl games and bowl games didn't really count.
1. Why do we not claim the 1956 National Championship when we were named by a publication as champions. Seems like everybody (Alabama) claims all they can.
2. What was the official reason for us not winning the 1939 championship? We know it was the last team to be scored upon in a regular season. 71 straight quarters. We won 1938 and 1940.
3. How did we not get one championship from 1926 to 1932, considering we have similar records to those that did win it. Could have had close to 10 titles with Neyland. Maybe more if it wasnt for his service, but his service probably made him the coach he was.
4. Last, what is this scorcery?
