It's basketball country pure and simple. He probably didn't have the greatest line, receivers, or running backs on his side. He probably wasn't facing the greatest defenses. Heck, even the coaching in football may not even stack up to basketball in that region.

New England isn't a hot bed for recruiting. It doesn't mean that a very skilled athlete can't come along though who has all the tools.

The bottom line is Butch and Debord liked what they saw and believe he can flourish in this offense. He's going to be put through a strength and conditioning program like he's never seen before and will be programmed from head to toe by Debord like he's never been before.

I'd bet my next paycheck that this kid is underrated due to where he's from and would have a much better offer list if he had more exposure.

Butch is great at uncovering what other coaches don't see. He won't take a qb just to take a qb. They know what this kid is capable of doing in our offense, and I trust them and welcome C.J.
