The thing that worries me the most about this season is the cultural stuff behind closed doors.
I stayed away from saying this all year ... but Herbie is a friend of mine and he told me early on that some stuff was going on inside the program with several kids and coaches. He wasn't specific. I didn't really believe it at the time, then came all the crap with williams, Hurd, O'Brien, Kongbo (don't know if this is really something or not), and who else we don't know about?? Is there more? Is it deeper?
I guess point being - how did Butch let the culture get off the rails in year 4 (if it in fact is). Is butch's approach rubbing kids/coaches the wrong way? Is he connecting? I thought he was, maybe not. Is he handling assistants the right way? Is he promising stuff to recruits/players then not following through? This year just seems "off".
And this isn't a I know Herbstreit post. I could do that crap all season long and I don't. We talk all the time about UT like any of us on this board would in person.
Team chemistry is everything. If we lost it this year - OF ALL YEARS - that's a big red flag.
