Coming out of that meeting several of our sources have indicated this week that hiring a non-Tennessee guy is a very real possibility. NOT GOOD
We know that Dr. Davenport has indicated her preference would be to hire a sitting AD, and we believe she would like a sitting AD from the Power Five ranks. We feel she has made that clear on more than one occasion to the committee. SHOULD HAVE SEEN THIS ONE COMING. IT WOULD CUT OUT FULMER AND BLACKBURN
A non-Tennessee guy wouldn't be well received by some. OF COURSE THEY WONT AND CONSIDERING THE TWO WITH UT TIES BEING MENTIONED SHOULD NOT BE.
One person on campus told us this week – “We don't have time to go through another 18 month or 2 year period of adjustment where a new chancellor and new athletic director learn how things work at Tennessee.” ANOTHER VERY GOOD REASON FOR NOT LIKING THE OUTSIDE HIRE
