Warrior didn't make the play. Or at least he won't get credit for the stop in the stat sheet. But he did make the play. He played assignment football and he trusted his teammates that they would be where they were supposed to be to do their job. You look at the best defenses in the country and, sure, they have athletes that can erase the potential big plays. But if you watch other defenses like Wisconsin (when they're not on the field for 40 mins against Ohio St) you see how they play as a cohesive unit. They all do their job and they trust their teammates to be where they're supposed to be. They don't try to do too much.
We struggled with that in the 1st quarter this last game and I'm sure we'll still struggle a little bit here and there. But for the most part, our defense has come on like gangbusters the last 5 or 6 games because guys are doing their jobs and they trust others to do their jobs. Warrior did that on the 4th down stop. He took care of the RB and made sure Bowden had to tuck the ball. And Blakely did his job, followed by Bituli doing his. It was beautiful to watch, not just that play but the evolution of the defense the last month.
