Was invited to attend the reception last night at Neyland by a former player who is a member at the church I preach for in the Boro. Got to meet some great former players, meet the staff, and so forth. Pruitt said we aren’t very good right now but that’s okay because it’s not September yet. All the coaches I talked to kept saying they have to get more good players. Neidermeyer talked to me about having to break the players down before building them up. He came right out and said he loves Knoxville but the culture around the program was a shock. Loves Woods Anderson and can’t wait to get him there this summer.

Pruitt told the crowd that he tells his team to never look at the scoreboard. Instead after every game he wants the other team to say “we don’t want to ever play those crazy SOB’s again.”

Recruits and parents got to come down and mingle for a while also. That was cool. After a pic with Coach Pruitt, he said I have to go over here and visit with this momma of a recruit. That was really his sole focus last night, recruiting. Great night!
