Name me one single top quality player that doesn't think they will play in the NFL one day? There isn't any starting QB's in the NFL that isn't better than 99.999% of all HS Qb's. Just because a QB has a high ranking doesn't mean squat until they prove it on the practice field and on game day.
How many examples have we all seen over just the past several years of VERY highly ranked QB's that pick a college and they NEVER EVER produce. Sometimes they are the top ranked QB in the nation coming out. They often bounce around from one college to another hoping to play and often having to drop down to some lowly college devoid of all serious competition.
Look at the very high level of competition coming in year after year to play RB at Georgia and Alabama and yet they always find new players.
Who is to say which player may end up getting hurt, may be immature and get homesick and run home to mommy and daddy, may just not fit the system in college, may drop out due to grades or drugs. How many people honestly though Dobbs was going to be the starter a few years ago, more than a few thought it was going to be a player from N.C., right?
All of us have competition in our daily lives and trying to run away from it is a sad statement on your upbringing and leadership if you run away and hide at the first sign of adversity and challenges.
You can only really measure your dedication, hard work and ability by the obstacles you had to overcome to succeed.
