1. Greg McElroy on Jalen Hurd - "I do think he needs to improve on pass protection and catching the ball out of the backfield."

Hurd can improve as a pass catcher, but he has good hands. Questions on Hurd as a pass blocker? Jalen Hurd was one of the best pass blocking Freshmen I have ever seen, and he has only gotten better. Two quick examples:

The fact that McElroy bragged on Hurd for his pass blocking last year takes his comment from ignorant, to possibly just foolish and lazy.

2. CBS Writer Jon Soloman on the most overrated team in College Football - "I don't understand a top-10 ranking for a perennially underachieving program that hasn't had a player drafted by the NFL in the past two years."

So, let me get this straight, Tennessee didn't have any players drafted in the last two NFL Drafts, which says they didn't have any older players with NFL talent; but at the same time, they are "perennially underachieving". It is hard to contradict oneself in a single sentence, but Mr Soloman has done so brilliantly.

A "perennially underacieving" team would be a team that consistently has NFL level players, but never performs as well as their ranking says they should (See Georgia Bulldogs).

Have any of you seen any national writers say or write anything this ignorant or foolish about Tennessee during the offseason?
