This thread should mostly be obvious thoughts (and certainly optimistic).
The best possible scenario would be for Quentin Dormady to run away with the job and have a 2017 season that would give him a relatively easy decision to make after the season regarding the NFL.......with Guarantano getting playing time here and there, or maybe occasionally in some situational packages.
Obviously, for such a scenario to happen would require the team as a whole to have a pretty solid season.
Then, that would set the stage for JG to likely run away with the starting job as a RS sophomore, and McBride, Penix, and Martinez (presumably) would be available as competent, scholarship backups with 1 or both of Penix and Martinez lined up to redshirt (after McBride redshirting for the 2017 season).
