critical evaluation of Butch at this point, along with what he must do to get us to respectability? You did a feel good piece about going and seeing the school bus survivors and families, and that was appropriate. I have no doubts Butch is a decent person.
I say willing and able because I am not sure you would want to lay it all out there to a thin skinned coach who is already under stress and does not seem to understand the criticism, even before the Vandy embarrassment.
I say able because you are part of the UT establishment. I am certainly not saying you are limited in what you can and will say about the program but I have always considered it a conflict of interest when you have thousands of paying customers who subscribe to get insight and yes, inside information, and then you are on the UT payroll too. Serving two masters can get tricky. I do not want this taken the wrong way. I think you are honest and do your best to be objective.
But I think most of us would like to see you, Paul, Rob and Austin do your own evaluation of Butch as coach and CEO of Tennessee football, and where you seeing him taking us. Heck, give out grades for each category. After all it is about a university and certainly grades are a big part of the process.
